DW range of
shredders
The stationary shredders in the DW range
were developed for the most difficult shredding tasks.
In modern waste treatment plants, the DW shredder is
often the central component in the waste homogenization
process, thereby making a significant contribution to
the availability and effective capacity utilization of
the entire plant.
The DW shredders have also proved themselves in the
treatment of old wood, commercial waste and mixed
construction waste.

The robust steel structure of the machine
guarantees high stability and long service life
and supports all parts, such as drive unit,
shredding tools and other components. The
structure is designed so that the drive unit
takes up little space in the front area and is
positioned to remain virtually dust-free. The
rear area is designed as a filling hopper for
the material to be shredded. The hopper side
panels are reinforced to protect against side
impacts by wheeled loaders and dredging shovels.
The mounting points for supporting the shredding
shaft and comb are appropriately reinforced to
accept the strain of continuous operation.
Easy-to-open, large sliding doors are mounted on
the side. They serve to protect against
accidents, prevent contamination and provide
easy access for maintenance work.
The shaft, equipped with 21 teeth, presses the
material to be shredded through an adjustable,
hydraulically controlled matching comb from
above. In the event of an overload, the comb
automatically moves down to discharge foreign
bodies downward and prevent faults and damage.
Then the hydraulics automatically return the
comb to the working position. The shaft and comb
tips are made of wear-resistant steel and
guarantee a long service life in the various
applications.
The machine is driven by a direct current motor.
The installed motor power is selected in
accordance with the requirements of continuous
operation. The drive unit is equipped with a
monitor which switches off the motor in the
event of any operating faults to prevent damage.
This is triggered by loss of hydraulic power,
excessive temperature or a defective fuse. The
power is transmitted to the shredding shaft via
5 high-performance V-belts, a large flywheel and
a spur wheel gear. A hydraulic pump in the motor
chamber driven by an electric motor via V-belts
supplies the associated control units for
driving the hydraulic consumers.
The shredder is ready for operation within a
short time of being switched on. All control
elements are located together in a central
machine switch cabinet so that the machine can
be operated safely and easily.
The most important functions can be operated
from a wheeled loader, digger or hall crane by
means of the radio control. The shredded
material is discharged on the lower discharge
belt. |
Description:
- Stationary shredding unit with slowly
rotating roller.
- Single-roller shredder with hydraulically
positioned matching comb.
- Applications: pre-shredding of household
rubbish, old wood, commercial rubbish.
- Particularly resistant to faults due to the
matching comb shredding.
- 3 m long roller allows high throughput and
operating safety.
