Machine
type: Encased stationary screening plant
Doppstadt SST screening stations are developed
especially for plant construction. They enable the
separation of the material in two or more screening
fractions thanks to a choice of equipment. Due to their
large drum diameter (2500 mm) they are frequently used
in the field of household rubbish and industrial waste
recycling and for building construction waste screening.
SST drum screening station
The Doppstadt screening machines in the SST range have
been specially developed for systems engineering. With
optional equipment, these allow the separation of the
feed material in two or three fractions. With their
large drum diameter, they are ideal for treatment
facilities for household and commercial waste as well as
for screening mixed construction waste.

Drive:
The drum is driven by 1 spur wheel back-geared
motor which drives the drum via chain pinions.
The drive is situated outside the drum drive
area, making it easily accessible for
maintenance and cleaning work.
Drum movement:
The screening drum is mounted on axial and
radial rollers. The axial rollers consist of two
Vulkolan-coated heavy load wheels each on the
input and output sides. The radial rollers
consist of a total of 4 heavy load rollers, also
coated with Vulkolan to ensure low-noise
operation.
Base drum element:
The screening drum is designed as a rolled
welded structure with a wall thickness of 8 - 15
mm, depending on the application. Mesh sizes
from 15 - 200 mm are available. The material
transport within the drum is carried out by
means of the welded-on transport screw which
guarantees high screening quality. The drum
jacket area is smooth so that a cleaning brush
or scraper can be applied. It is possible to
replace the drum from either side (for instance
to change the mesh).
Machine frame / body:
The basic structure of the machine frame is a
profile steel tube structure onto which the
various attachments for drive, rollers,
protective doors and chutes are mounted. 2
large-surface protective doors are
swivel-mounted on each of the long sides. When
open, the drum can be lifted out from the side
(for instance to replace the drum). To reduce
dust and noise, the entire drum area is enclosed
on top with screw-on cover plates. The roof area
is equipped with pipe connection pieces and
flange connections so that a dedusting facility
can be connected. The basic frame includes all
material guiding panels and chutes, both in the
drum entrance and exit areas as well as in the
fine grain collection area. The front-side
material chutes are equipped with rubber inserts
to minimize noise and wear.
Maintenance, inspection, repair:
The drum is generally cleaned automatically by
the cleaning scraper situated against the
outside of the drum jacket. For special thorough
cleaning, the two-panel side doors can be
opened.
All lubrication work is performed from the
central lubrication blocks located in the
accessible area beneath the drum.
A maintenance catwalk is mounted on the machine
frame on one side. The associated stairs are
included as standard. Stairs and catwalks are
constructed in accordance with the relevant
regulations with grid panels and grid stairs.
All catwalks include hand rail, foot and knee
bars.
Inspection openings are provided in the machine
cover at the important material transfer points.
